There are things we do when we’re bored that most won’t admit. I for instance, will watch anything on cable. I’ve had this bad habit for so long, that I’ve developed a movie opinion/barometer that goes in the other direction. I enjoy bad film, Troll 2, The Critters Franchise, Shaolin Death Squad, The Blob, Killer Tomatoes, Blacula, and Space Truckers just to name a few. Now I don’t recommend these to you dear reader. I warn you away from them. I feel like I’m on the front lines of terrible film, as this is a selfless stance I take, I’d only want the most stout of heart renaissance men and women of bad film tastes there with me.
Jeremy my long time friend who agreed to have is image in the comic, marches to a beat of a different drummer. And I know you’re thinking ‘those solid gold pants, obviously that drummer plays in an orchestra for the local musical theater.’ This is not the case. Jeremy is my gamer friend. I play video games. I love them. They were like an extra grandparent spoiling me rotten with all the 8 bit pixels I could handle. So when I say Jeremy is my gamer friend, well, go play an FPS that you really like with him. He’s not going to change, your love of the game however will. You’ll die a little inside and start saying that you’re an average INSERT YOUR FPS HERE Player. Not only does he play a ton of games, he plays them better than you. Perhaps at some point we’ll have the Jeremy gaming challenge as some sort of site promotion.
This brings me to two points. When bored at work, Jeremy will play anything. We played Tribal Wars for months. I’m not going to link it, it’s a time sink. It’s a long term web based strategy game. We got incredibly bored with it and sent all of our soldiers in a wide scale attack against a “tribe” that was bigger than us, then quit. Then we played Ikarium, which is the same exact game, with a few more whistles and better drawn, if not more cartoony art. I’m not going to link it again, time sink(Adsense might though). We’ve since moved on to many different games, every once in awhile we’d see each other on a new one, and have the other forward a URL. Then Jeremy played Celebrity Pedigree. This was the first game I didn’t want the link for. I’m only linking it because I should hope you’re able to control yourself, but you really need to see how awful it is. The girl that plays this has bling stickers on her pink cell phone. We made a conscious decision to not include the art based on the game because frankly I didn’t think you’d believe it without the links. And before you question me on the long blond locks on Brad Pitbull, that’s a take on him from Legends of the Fall–what a dreamboat.
Point numero dos. Jeremy is a competitive son of a bitch. Like many gamers, games that he finds difficult are obviously suffering from a design flaw or too large a luck factor. In fact the only games that I have seen him not play to win are board games. In those, if you wrong him, he will spend the rest of the game screwing you so hard you’re in second to last place right behind him. It always adds a more interesting dynamic than the game designers ever expected possible. The other day he was at his computer looking up the most retardedly overpowered class combinations for a DnD game, that he isn’t in yet. Ladies and Gentlemen my pal Jeremy.
