Today’s comic is about subtext. Looking at today’s webcomic, I like to think that over this past month Don and my partnership here at the Straight Face has finally gelled. We are a well oiled machine. When I wrote this, there was supposed to be a tiny bit of innuendo between Lex and his mysterious visitor. Pinhead was just the innocent shoulder to cry on. Through Don’s artistic vision reading between the lines has never been so simple. He took my innocent little joke about cancer and turned it into a Man Opera. I think this comic speaks for itself. I’d like to take a moment to dedicate this webcomic to two brave men: Dr. Quest and Race Bannon.
Our cigar and gin swilling baby of a Webcomic has survived it’s first month. Our girlfriends Jenn and Tina have been extremely patient and supportive with both Don and myself as we take on what amounts to a second job for us. Thanks to you both. It’s been a fun ride so far. Thanks to Cliff and Jason and everyone else that’s tossed in time and effort on the site. Thanks to everyone that’s reading and those of you that are linking us in your blogs and forums. We’ve been steadily gaining readership over the last month. Don and I are surprised we’ve had the turn out we’ve had.
It’s been a very fulfilling month. It may be presumptious but as I had someone ask if they could be our number one fast the other day I think I’ll go ahead and ask. As a fan, or someone himming and hawing about the prospect of being a fan, is there anything you’d like to see on the site that’s not here already? While we may not be able to get to anything large very soon, we’d like to hear from you so we can always be building towards future projects. Please feel free comment on today’s comic thread about it, I’ll be reading them. Agree Jon. Who would have thought that Villains would be such neat freaks. Maybe Dexter is a regular at the bar so he always has plastic on the ground.
