For those of you who haven’t heard another MMO, Aion, went live this week. It’s as if several hundreds of thousands of geeks tried to type Legolas, Drizzt, and Sephiroth into a naming console in every spelling imaginable. I can’t speak for the game play, I haven’t played yet. The Combo unlocking system looks sort of neat. The rest of the game, in my humblest opinion, looks as if it were designed around that part of MMO culture that dwells inside some of us. That urge to strap on some pointed ears, perhaps some Anime hair, and prance, prance your little elven heart out. Now add wings. There’s a game out there that’s less aesthetically manly than this game, and that game is Hello Kitty Island Adventures. Aion seems to me, to be built around the premise of two dudes hanging out, that could burst out of their tights at any moment. The Ambiguously Gay MMO if you will. Your racial selections are two, brooding-elven-flying-dudes and brooding-even-more-so-elven-flying-dudes. I have a hard time getting into something that aesthetically seems to be designed against my likes. I’ve played casters in past MMOs, but I like knowing that if I wanted to, there would be an awesome tough melee race I could roll. Flying pvp combat sounds interesting. There are a few innovations happening in this game, but I’m stuck at the book’s cover. If you are reading this and bought the game, please feel free to leave a comment, maybe I’m wrong. Regardless you know there aren’t enough xx’s left to get a spelling of Sephiroth into the game, so my whole name scheme is thrown.

HAHAHAHA The legolas line from AoC. I still remember planing everyone's names out and then DH saying he would be a ranged melee class and his name being XxllegollasxX! HAHA
