No one rapes a childhood like George Lucas.  I’m not going to rant about that though, it’s already been taken away from me.   What I’m currently worried about being victimized is the KOTOR series (that’s Knights of the Old Republic) instead of making another single player in a series of the best single player rpgs that’s ever been made, they’re making an MMO.  I wonder how in the world they’ll be to balance being a Jedi, with being the Average Joe blaster.  While the trailer does look sweet I don’t know how well it will hold up to the other two KOTORs in that format.  Time will tell.  I’ve already reserved XxBobafettxX.

My hatred of Betty White has only become more heated as she’s re-risen to semi-stardom.  My jealously of her and her old lady pals knows no bounds.  That is why there is only her left.  Unfortunately for me like a Geriatric Highlander she has only grown in power.  Now that she is “The One”  only time will tell on the next installment of the  Kill Betty Series.  It’s me or her.  I’d continue the blog but I have to go take some horse steroids and hit the gym before it’s go time.

I saw the preview for Karate Kid, and I started wondering why they’d port the brand new movie over to China, ususually the Asian trip movie is second movie in a series if not third.  Then the answer presented itself in the form of a comic.

Also in movies, I saw Robin Hood/Gladiator 2  I’d give it a B-/C+ They simultaneously while making the Robin Hood back-story more interesting also made it more cheesy.  Just think Robin Hood infused with dash of unneeded National Treasure.  Over all not a bad watch, but I didn’t need to have seen it in theaters.

Matt and Jeremy after teaching Jesus 2 play are finally back in their own skin.  More important than letting Don know they’re ok, is of course the Iron Man premiere.    More on that this Thursday.

IRL Matt hasn’t  actually seen Iron Man yet, so no review.

I did however see Kick-Ass.  It was more action and less dark comedy than I thought it would be.  Not that either portion was bad just not in the ratio that I expected.  This was a departure from Nick Cage’s last 10 years of sucking, which was nice.  He’s on my list of actors that normally make me avoid a movie.  He got there by teaching me many harsh lessons about what a falling star will do to stay out of debt.  His quirky was subdued and worked. I am a sucker for a man that needs some revenge.  I’ll give the  movie a  ‘B+/ A-’.  I was glad I saw it in theaters.   It was great super hero foreplay to get me all worked up before Iron Man 2.

I have word from the Phillipines, and that word is “hooker.”  According to Don the frugal traveler can find a hooker for about 1-2$, they may have Hepatitis A/B and or Taburculosis, but man what a price.  I’m assuming the 2$ hooker has the TB, Doc Holiday had TB that’s a manly disease.  Speaking of manly, Don also informs me that there’s a long standing Filipino Hooker tradition of being a surprise man, and it’s thought to be ok to keep this a secret as long as the client is drunk.  Don has gone deep undercover to get us this vital info.  He gets to charge 5$ though, because he’s not riddled with debilitating illness.

Saw Tv Spots for Avatar all Thanksgiving weekend.  James Cameron getting back on the action horse after a long time at sea–filming it.  I’ve voiced this before, but after getting Lucased in the nuts by new Star Wars, then New Indy, I feel like a battered woman at the shelter ready to date again.  He seems handsome, and he’s saying nice things, but then he talks about cat people.  And all I see are Gungans crawling out of a fridge after a nuclear blast.  Someone hold me and my first born alien to be.

Don is on his way to the Magical Land of the Philipines for 3ish weeks.  While there he will climb their infamous Mount Bootleg Dvd and learn to speak to dinosaurs.  I imagine this will be much like talking to Amy the Gorilla from Congo.  Except when the raptor says tickle Amy, it’s much more horrifying.  Also their will from the looks of the drawing be women bigger than those dinosaurs, perhaps riding them.  This trip of magical wonders leaves me with some comics already completed.  So unfortunately our rampant attacks on bad movies and dead celebrities will be at a cease fire as we’ll be unable to update our content with current events for a bit.  Please feel free to flood Don’s inbox. don@straightfacecomics.com with questions about the magic and piles of pornography that he experienced in the Philippines.  I’m sure he’d love to answer them when he gets back.

What can I say about Twilight that already hasn’t been said?  I mean they invented old timey vampire baseball and brought sparkley chests back to a non-stripper idium.  You just can’t take that away from them.  New Moon looks to be more of the same.  I just hope they have more silent brooding this go around.

Poor Rancho Santa Margarita/Matt was trying to spread a bit of the misery around there.   This movie, is the rare movie that makes me wish I had a kid to take to it.  Not that I hate the idea of kids, but most kid movies don’t peak my interest enough to ever think about seeing them in theaters.  I think my last two kid movies were 9, and Wall-E and I can’t even remember before that.  I read a lot growing up, and have a fond memory of reading the very short book repeatedly, mostly just because of the art.  Man, those monsters looked amazing.  I really hope this movie doesn’t rape my childhood memories /fingers crossed
